In the book of Exodus chapter 4 verse 16, God said unto Moses concerning Aaron, ‘and he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.’ KJV. Also, in the first verse of chapter seven of the same book, God said unto Moses, ‘see I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.’
Being a god
But what does it really mean to become a god?
To really understand this concept and get answers to our questions, we may want to go back to the story of Moses and consider certain things. How was Moses made a God to Aaron? How did he become a God to Pharaoh? Gods perform wonders, don’t they?
Was he a god because he performed wonders? This may be true when we think of Moses being a God to Pharaoh, but what about the second person. Was he a god to Aaron because he performed wonders? How was Aaron his prophet if he was a god for performing wonders?
Be a god: give commands
Whenever there was a need, Moses would tell Aaron, his prophet, what to do and Pharaoh would beg for withdrawal. That is what it means to be a god. So when God called us, believers, gods, He was simply saying we will tell others what to do.
How to be a god?
Make God your god
Does he speak to you? If he doesn’t speak to you then you are not his prophet, and He His certainly not your God. When you make God your God is when you get the ability to be God over your own life. It is in this stage that God speaks to you concerning you own life. He tells you your purpose, what to do to achieve it, and a variety of other things. And as you continue in being faithful, God launches you into being God for other people that surround you. This was the stage Moses was when God sent him to Pharaoh.
